Kiyikoy Nature Sports Club Association (KIYIDOSK) is a nongovernmental organization founded in 2019 located in Kiyikoy, a village in the district of Vize in Kırklareli province at northwestern Turkey, population 2077.
KIYIDOSK is committed to promoting the cultural, social, educational and economic development at local, national, European and international levels. KIYIDOSK contributes to growth and development through the active participation of people, civil society and institutions, always valuing diversity.
The NGO tries to attract people who are not interested in nature sports, as well as those who are interested in nature and sports to popularize and promote the sport in nature, they aims to develop and support cooperation in Europe to encourage people, especially the most disadvantaged, to participate in public life and to promote their sense of initiative, entrepreneurial spirit and creativity, contribute to the development cultural diversity, social cohesion, sustainable development and combating all forms of discrimination fostering their mobility in Europe. As well, KIYIDOSK develops and promotes the Youth Action approach to empowering and supporting ever-greater numbers of young people to act of benefit to themselves and others.
The main area of interest is a physical activity used as a tool to promote health, well-being and healthy lifestyles. We strongly believe that a more healthy and cohesive society can be created through sport. In our work, we involve the inhabitants of the rural area in which we work in internationalization processes and create opportunities for exchange by spreading good habits and raising awareness among the population of respect for the environment, health and sports promotion.
Objectives: • To enable low-participation groups and disadvantaged populations to partake in sport and physical activity; • To spread culture and new perspectives through formal and non-formal methods; • To communicate and promote equality, diversity, and inclusion; • To promote linkage between schools, clubs and public institutions; • To promote and embed inclusive learning, teaching, and assessment; • To empower communities to provide opportunities for participation in a variety of local programs and events; • To encourage the participation of young people in local and international activities.
KIYIDOSK team has a wide experience in working as both coordinator and partner in projects funded under Erasmus+. Our team brought together unpaid 15 professional and volunteer individuals from different cultures, many of whom live abroad and have intercultural experience. Since it is a team coming from many academic backgrounds such as sports experts, engineers, human resources, cinema and television, advertising, it makes a great contribution to the multi-dimensional evaluation and implementation of the project.
We work with over 150 international and 100 local young people every year within our projects to support them in the development of their skills and interests, intending to support their transition into work. Since we come from a rural area, we are making a huge change locally by integrating the volunteers we work with locally into the activities. By bringing this experience to the project, we will share in increasing awareness of the European Union and developing health-oriented projects especially in the rural areas.
Target Group: Through our commitment we want to give opportunities to young people and adults. In particular, our activities involve NEETs (Neither in Employment nor in Education or Training-15-35 years old) coming from rural and disadvantaged areas that have or have had limited opportunities. |
What are the activities and experience of the organisation in the areas relevant for this application? |
Although our organization is young, it unites people who have worked separately in many Erasmus + projects. So our experience comes from the union of many informal groups of young which had as their objective the promotion of health, good lifestyles and to fight health problems due to bad habits, such as obesity. Our previous projects have allowed us to build a strong European network and to develop competences and dissemination skills. Up to now, the team that manages the association implemented several projects to promote a healthy lifestyle and sports for all. In this context, the team implemented 2 Youth Exchanges about a healthy lifestyle, 6 Youth Exchanges about obesity and 1 Youth Exchange about cycling.
Support & Facilitation: As an association, we provide sports experts and facilitation support to projects on sports/well-being/healthy lifestyle organized by other institutions and informal youth groups. In youth projects, we support both guide, sports specialist and activity planning in hiking, trekking and outdoor activities in our territory: http://bit.ly/3bbb9H4
Training and teaching: To organize training events is a way to make people more suitable for the world of sport and Erasmus+. KIYIDOSK is committed to organizing training events that allow us to increase skills and prospects through sports and well-being. The educational events aim to increase the opportunities for the beneficiaries but also for the territory through the start of a healthy lifestyle.
Peer to peer approach: Our organization carries out a continuous assistance system for young adults, making people aware of the opportunities, supporting them through mentoring, coaching and tutoring mechanisms. Our team is composed of sports experts and other disciplines. We implement and encourage a system for sharing among our team and volunteers through peer sharing.
Discovering and sharing: Mobility and sharing are the keywords that motivate the choice of mobility and Erasmus+ projects. Involving young people and adults in the exchange of cultures, professional and study experiences is a way of widening employment horizons and improving lifestyles. We organize information sharing activities regularly for a permanent and permanent transfer of information.
Solidarity, informal youth group and project support: We promote solidarity activities so that young people are involved in social life, understand the importance of sports and share it with other young people.
