  • To introduce the basics of storytelling through the prism of the Hero’s Journey paradigm
  • To introduce basic Game Design & Gamification principles
  • To develop knowledge about European Cultural Heritage, Mythology, Folklore
  • To introduce to the participants conscious way of learning through the Youthpass
  • To develop artistic abilities of the participants via role playing (Mythological LARP, creation of thematic Escape Room)
  • To create and share a compendium of new original fictional stories made by participants
  • To utilize music as a tool for expanding limits of participants’ creativity
  • To explore how games can be used to boost cooperation, storytelling and bonding
  • To use Cultural Heritage as means of promoting social cohesion
  • To help youth remember their past heritage, forge present identity and shape future Erasmus+ project links

The project includes the Youth Exchange mobility which will be full of various storytelling techniques and workshops (finding inspiration, creating short and long stories) gamified experiences (avatar creation, team-building game with Dixit cards, Mythological LARP (live-action role-playing) and Game Design activities (designing and playtesting a thematic escape room). We will also implement intercultural folklore nights and reflection activities.

Participants (25 participants, 5 from each country) are aged 20-27, coming from Greece, Poland, Norway, Turkey, Italy.

  • Participants will:
    • Understand the Hero’s journey template of writing stories
    • Learn how to run their own storytelling project
    • Improve their understanding of European Cultural Heritage
    • Acquire or deepen knowledge about various mythologies and stories will develop storytelling skills and techniques will develop their creativity and explore their creative side will develop linguistic skills
    • Develop presentation skills
    • Develop Gamified tools to be used for storytelling
    • Learn about Roman, Scandinavian, Hellenistic, Central Slavic, and Anatolian folklore
  • The hard results of our project are:
    • The compendium of myths and stories
    • 4 Escape room games
    • The dissemination activities organised by participants
    • Photo coverage from the project
    • The testimonies of young people-participants of the YE which will be published on the web-page of the applicant organisation
  • The soft results of our project are:
    • Knowledge of Hero’s journey template of writing stories
    • Knowledge how to run a storytelling project
    • Improvement of their understanding of European Cultural Heritage
    • Knowledge about various mythologies and stories
    • Development of storytelling skills and techniques
    • Development of creativity
    • Development of linguistic skills
    • Development of presentation and rhetoric skills
